The college preparatory curriculum at Saint John’s Catholic Prep consists of the core subjects - 数学, 科学, 英语, 社会研究, 世界语言, 和神学. Physical Education, Technology, and Fine Arts are also required. Students may select electives in major subject areas in addition to required courses.

In order to challenge each student appropriately, and allow each student to work to his or her full potential, Saint John’s provides college prep, 荣誉, Advanced Placement, and Dual Enrollment courses. The general academic courses are designed to strengthen skills required in a college preparatory program ,while the 荣誉 courses, offered in 英语, 数学, 世界语言, 科学, and 社会研究, provide progressively greater challenges and more in-depth study. Qualified students are strongly encouraged to take Advanced Placement courses offered in 英语, 数学, 科学, 政府, and 世界语言. Advanced Placement courses may allow students to earn valuable college credits. Seniors with a GPA of 3.25 or higher are invited to take Dual enrollment classes at the Frederick campus of 山圣. Mary’s or apply for a full senior/freshman year at the Emmitsburg campus. Saint John’s Catholic Prep enjoys a long tradition of service to its students, 它的社区, and to the kingdom of God. That tradition is rooted in the values established by its Jesuit founder, Father John McElroy, which in turn reflects both the message of Jesus and the way he taught through wisdom, 原因, story and personal example.
